Job Description

The District Manager supports the Vice President of Operations with a variety of administrative duties. Must provide support services by working with disabled/disadvantaged persons and assisting in the rehabilitation process of Goodwill Industries of El Paso operates seven (7) days a week. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Assists the Vice President in administrative duties. 2. Provides support and oversees the operations of the assigned stores or region. 3. Maintains records of production and reports out-puts via regular reports to Vice President of Operations. Responsibilities and Duties

1. Recruits and interviews applicants when needed. 2. Identifies the training needs of the employees at each store. 3. Provides hands-on training in the processing areas, as necessary, to effectively increase the flow of donations. 4. Provides hands-on training in the retail sales area, as necessary, to effectively increase the sales of goods per retail square foot. 5. Provides hands-on training in the retail sales area, as necessary, to enhance the marketing of each store with more effective visual displays. 6. Ensures compliance with and the advancement of the Retail Training Program. 7. Responsible for developing drive-up donation stations at all Retail Stores, utilizing the most efficient means for managing the donations and assisting the donors. 8. Integrates employees into the Retail and Processing operations, adapting to job skills, and experience. 9. Submits monthly progress reports to the Vice President of Operations. 10. Communicates with any other division within Goodwill as needed. 11. Follows all company and department policies and procedures. 12. Demonstrates excellent work habits for employees and program participants, maintaining a good attitude towards the operation of the entire facility, and is a positive role model for individuals receiving rehabilitation services. 13. Ensure all safety rules are adhered to and the general upkeep of your area meets the standards of Goodwill Industries of El Paso, Inc. Reports accidents or injuries immediately. 14. Maintains a high level of confidentiality regarding Goodwill Industries of El Paso, Inc. and persons receiving services. 15. Maintain a satisfactory work-life balance to promote physical, mental health, improve commitment, and motivation to work. 16. Understands and upholds organizational policies/procedures. 17. Assists in other areas as requested.

Required Skills

1. Five (5) years supervisory experience in a retail store. 2. Ability to supervise training for a minimum of 60 people. 3. Must be a self-starter. 4. Must have knowledge of labor laws. 5. Must be able to read, write and speak English. 6. Computer experience helpful. 7. Ability to follow written or verbal instructions. 8. Must be able to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends). 9. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required. 10. Must be able to travel to a variety of Goodwill facilities daily. 11. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision. 12. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, customers, donors, and persons receiving services. 13. Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance. 14. Ability to provide support services by working with disabled/disadvantaged persons and assisting in the rehabilitation process of Goodwill Industries of El Paso, Inc.

Required Education

Associates degree in marketing, business, or a related field or minimum of two years experience in retail sales, management, or personnel.
